 James Koster, Sr.
Service: Tuesday, July 11, at 1 PM at New Community Church, 2340 Dean Lake Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, 49505   
Cemetery: Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens

James W. Koster, Sr., age 78, of Kentwood, MI, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.  James sold welding supplies and was a dedicated member of AWS, American Welding Society, in Grand Rapids, MI.  He enjoyed being at work and singing or humming hymns.  James is lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Linda; children, James (Bonnie) Koster, Jr., Jamie Lin (Rodney) Standish, Tamra (Roger Tanis) Koster; five grandchildren, Heather Koster and Josh Russell, Bryan (Kelly) Koster, Kenneth (Melissa "Missy") Koster, Kamarie Standish, Rachel Standish; four great-grandchildren, Kaymen, Malachi, Lelynd, Laney; brother and sisters, Philip (Suzie) Koster, Marcia (Roger) De Kock, Norma Nied, Carol (Rex) Frieden; many nieces and nephews.  A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at New Community Church, 2340 Dean Lake Ave NE, Grand Rapids, 49505, with Dr. Mark Vander Meer officiating.  Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of James may be made to Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods or American Welding Society Scholarship Fund of Grand Rapids.

My sympathies to the Koster family. I have not been in Grand Rapids for many years but do have some memories of your family. What a blessing to have a father who loved the Lord and now is with Him forever.
