Catherine Irene (Meines) Geelhoed, age 88, of Kentwood, MI, went into glory on Saturday, July 1, 2023.  As she lived, she also passed, with her usual grace and commitment, spirit, soul and body, to her Savior Jesus Christ.  As she often told us she would, she has now had a permanent change of address and is forever rejoicing in the Kingdom of Heaven.  She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Kenneth Geelhoed; daughters, Karen (Paul) Paradiso, Lori (Scott) Heckman; daughter-in-law, Ruth Geelhoed; sisters, Jean Meines, and Mary Baker; grandchildren, Benjamin Geelhoed, Robin (Jacob) Barnett, Emily (Brandyn) Deckinga, Kassandra (Jeremiah) Gamblin, Angela (Justin) Weber; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, and Reese Gamblin; Audrena, and Bennett Weber; August, and Emmeline Barnett; Heidi, Quinn, Annie, and baby Deckinga; as well as many nieces, nephews, and family friends who will miss her dearly.  She was preceded in death by her son, Rev. Robert Geelhoed, PhD; parents, Sanford and Henrietta Meines; brothers, Harold, David, and James Meines; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jacob and Grace Geelhoed; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donald Geelhoed, Hiroko (Betty) Geelhoed, and Joyce Koning.  Kathy spent her life dedicated to her family as well as her faith, and spent years as a Christian counselor leading many to Jesus.  As she had wished, burial has been completed.  A celebration of her life will take place on Sunday, July 16, at 3 pm at Inheritance Church, South Christian High School, 7979 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Byron Center, MI 49315.
