On Thursday, June 22, 2023, Marvin Post, age 93, of Byron Center, entered through the pearly gates and was greeted by his Heavenly Father. He served in the U.S. Army and was assigned to a hospital in Germany. Having a strong faith and a love for his Heavenly Father, Marvin could be found reading his Bible daily. He would share Psalm 23 or the Lord's Prayer by reciting it to those who wanted to hear it. Farming and his family were his life. He and Virginia bought a small farm in Byron Center where they made a life and raised their three daughters. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; daughter, Pat Post; his five brothers and three sisters; one sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law. Marvin will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Kathy (Joe) Molner, Laura (Bob) Elzinga; grandchildren, Daniel McDonald, Zach (Rachael) Molner, Wesley (Casey) Molner, Dakota (Kayla) Molner, Tim (Lexi) Elzinga, Allie (Blake) Lafferty-Reside, Jacob (Kacie) Elzinga, Isaac Elzinga; great-grandchildren, Kyler, Bryson, Bowen, Josiah, Hattie, Elijah, Alivia, Eli, Vincen, Jonah, Mateo, Kennedy, Ryleigh, Levi; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Earl Idema, Deloris Drew, Karen Platte; and many nieces and nephews; and his friend, Dan, who became like a brother. The family will greet visitors on Tuesday, June 27, from 6 - 8 pm and on Wednesday, June 28, from 10 - 11 am at Dorr Christian Reformed Church, 4220 18th St. where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 28, at 11 am, with Pastor Cedric Parsels officiating.
