Marvin John Hulst, age 88, of Grand Rapids, MI, passed away on April 25, 2023, after a brief illness.  Marv was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He is now rejoicing in heaven! Marv was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hazel Hulst; brother, Clarence; sister, Barbara; infant son; and granddaughter, Megan. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Carol; children, Jeff (Lydya) Hulst, Steve (Cindee) Hulst, Craig (Jiemin) Hulst, Lisa (Mark) Leszczynski; grandchildren, Kayley (Robbie), Trevor, Erika (Cody), Nicolas, Jessica (Alexander), Tim, Annika, Matt, Katelyn and Chloe; great-grandchildren, Ryker and Raymond; Siblings, Ruth (Don) Haan, and Linda Hulst. Marv proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He spent his whole life in the Grand Rapids area, where he and Carol raised their family. They loved to travel around the country in their motorhome traveling from Florida to Alaska and many places in between. Family was very important to him, and he loved spending time with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Thursday, April 27, 2023, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Stroo Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023, with visitation starting at 10:00 am and the service at 11:00 am at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68^th St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI, 49508, with Pastor Evan Heerema and Pastor Jeff Vanderhooft, officiating. A private burial will take place later that day.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marv’s name to Right to Life of Michigan.
