Joyce Lorraine Hirt, age 80, of Alto, entered her heavenly home on Wednesday, April 5, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Hirt; her son, Fred Hirt Jr.; her brothers, Robert Mead, Frank Gauntt; and sister, Patricia Hanson. Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her children, Nancy Hirt, Jeff (Linda) Hirt; grandchildren, Derek (Rachel) Hirt, Amanda Hirt, Katrina Mendricks, Keith Mendricks, Samantha Hirt, Jennifer (Shawn) Hall, Fred Day-Hirt III; four great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Carl (Carol) Hirt; and several nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends and relatives on Monday, April 10, from 6 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 11, at Stroo Funeral Home (1095 68 St. SE), with an hour of visitation prior to the service from 1 - 2 pm. Pastor Mike Lamson will officiate. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Contributions in memory of Joyce may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
