Andrew Gordon Ruhl, age 61, of Grand Rapids, MI, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023.  Andrew was born on March 28, 1961, in Reed City, MI.  He attended Reed City High School and entered into the Air Force after graduation.  Andrew has lived in California, North Dakota, Texas and back to Michigan, which he considers his home state.  While he was in California, he worked as a kitchen manager and grill cook, which he enjoyed very much.  Andrew enjoyed sci-fi books, and looking up sci-fi shows and old sci-fi movies on his computer was a favorite pastime.  He loved electronics/tech, but only if they were "cool".  A good game of chess was something he looked forward to.  He loved cloud watching and always said Michigan had the prettiest clouds of any state.  Finding out later in life that he had a daughter, he eagerly made contact with her, and she soon became the bright spot in his life.  After meeting her in person 2 years ago, you could hear the smile in his voice when he spoke of her.  He was very proud of her and couldn't believe that he had been a part of her creation.  "She is just so beautiful", were his words.  He is preceded in death by his father, Gordon Ruhl; mother, Katherine Ruhl; grandparents, Charles and Gertrude Ruhl; nephew, Robert Glenn Ernest Ruhl.  Andrew is survived by his daughter; Christina Michelle (Mariano) Deocampo; granddaughter, Carissa Rose; grandsons, Caleb Ray, and Aiden Mariano, all of Austin, Texas; brothers and sister, Lloyd (Hazel) Ruhl of Wilmington, OH, Lee (Gina) Ruhl of Mountain Ranch, CA, Robert Ruhl of Hempstead, TX, Cindi (Glen) Kieke of Burton, TX, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
