Edna Jean (Koetje) Fennema, age 76, of Byron Center, MI, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 22, 2023.  Edna loved spending time with her family and playing games with her grandchildren.  She enjoyed motorcycling, camping, doodling, coloring, and putting together puzzles.  Preceding her in death is her great-grandson, Carter Fennema; brother-in-law, Chuck Fennema; parents, Case and Arlene Koetje; stepmother, Jo Koetje; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walt and Kay Fennema.  Edna will be dearly missed and remembered by her husband of 56 years, Pete; children, Roger (Diane) Fennema, Chad (Lisa) Fennema, Vicky (Randy) VandenBerg, Peter “Digger” (Rachel) Fennema; 25 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, John (Laura) Koetje; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Nick (Bonnie) Fennema, Gary (Pam) Fennema, Jakki (Roger) VanderLaan, Larry (Val) Fennema, Joyce Fennema, Lori (Kevin) Hoezee; many nieces, nephews, and stepsiblings.  The family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday, February 26, from 2 PM to 5 PM, at Stroo Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 27, at 11 AM, at Heritage Christian Reformed Church, 3089 84th St. SW, Byron Center, 49315, with an hour visitation prior to the service from 10 AM to 11 AM.  Rev. Dan Mouw will officiate.  Interment will be in Winchester Cemetery.  The family wishes to thank the staff of The Oaks at Byron Center and Faith Hospice for the wonderful care they provided.  Memorial contributions in honor of Edna may be made to Faith Hospice.
