Joanne Lorraine Boelema, age 88, of Byron Center, MI, stepped into heaven on Friday morning, January 6, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Boelema; her stepson, Ronald Boelema; and niece, Robyn Nelson.  She will be lovingly remembered by her brother, Bruce (Sharon) Nelson; nephews, Bryin (Janine) Nelson, Brett (Shari) Nelson; niece, Ranett Schiebner; many grandnieces and nephews; and her dear friends, the Dick and Shirlee Tibbe family. Joanne passed away peacefully following years of debilitating osteoarthritis and, more recently, cancer.  We rejoice, knowing that today she is in the presence of her Heavenly Father and completely healed. A service will be held to celebrate her life at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 29, at Woodward Baptist Church of Byron Center, 2160 76th St. SW, Byron Center, 49315. The family can be greeted during the dessert reception following the service.
