John L. Gokey, age 87, of Byron Center, MI, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, December 25, 2022.  John proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a sergeant in the 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton, California.  He married Patricia (Robotham) on July 10, 1956.  John was a tool and diemaker for 39 years.  He retired from General Motors in 1998.  John was preceded in death by his parents, Alger and Sarah Gokey; siblings, Ralph (Bertha) Dexter, Ada (Bill) Hart, Almon Gokey, Raymond (Minerva) Rose, Ed (Gerry) Gokey, Lorena (Ed) Scholz, Rolland Gokey, Ordie (Rick) Boss, Catherine (Jay) Bright; nephews, RoyLee Malone, David Scholz, and Tom Kidd; niece, Marion Hunter.  Lovingly remembering John is his wife of 66 years, Patricia; daughters, Carla (Eric) King, Caren Blevins, Lisa (Jeffrey) Ansley; grandchildren, Erin (Zach) Taylor, Aubrey (Tom) Bertucci, Elise King, Chantal (Brandy) Storm, Jessica Storm & Eric Sorensen, Shayna Ansley, Derek (Molly) Ansley; great-grandchildren, Dominick, Alexander, Isabella Federico, Brayden Sorensen, Greyson & Carter Rumenapp, Jordyn & Kaylee Taylor, Ellianna Storm, Remi Ansley; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronald (Nives) Robotham; plus many special nieces and nephews.  A visitation will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023, from 4 to 7 PM at Stroo Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at 11 AM at Green Lake Calvary Church, 608 145^th Ave, Caledonia, 49316.  Dr. Dan Farnol and Dr. Mark Smith will officiate.  Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Memorial contributions in honor of John may be made to Hospice of Holland.
