James L. "Jim" Cronover, age 85, having recently given his life to the Lord, went home to Heaven on Monday, December 12, 2022.  Jim was born in Flint, Michigan. He was orphaned at a young age and raised by his half-brother, Ortie Williams, and his wife, Lilian. As a teenager, he joined the US Army and was a Paratrooper. Jim was a great man who was loved and admired by many. His ability to put others before himself led him to devote the latter half of his life to his wife, Gini, and the UAW Local. Endearing, hardworking, and loyal, Jim never failed to set the example for his family and the people who knew him. His sense of humor was unmatched, and he knew how to make everyone feel so loved and welcomed. Jim recently recommitted his life to Christ and had an incredible testimony. His face lit up every time he talked about his Savior, and he spent the last of his days discipling others. He will be greatly missed by many.Jim was preceded in death by his siblings, Geraldine Karppinen and Harry Cronover; and his brothers-in-law, Jerry Moerland, Marvin Veldheer, and Harold Dykstra. Surviving is his wife, Virginia "Gini"; his daughter, Terry McKown; his son, James Cronover; his grandchildren, Julie (Chris) Bouwens, David (Danielle) Cole, James Avery (Megan), Lauren Cronover (Nick), Katelynn Cronover (Draven), Darren Cronover (Amanda); his great-grandchildren, Kylie, Tyden, Brookelynn, Bryce, Cierstyn, Blakelynn, Skyler, Elijah, Nolan, Shiloh, and Amelia; his sisters-in-law, AnnMarie Moerland, Marge Veldheer, and Betty Dykstra; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 19, from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, where the funeral service, including military honors, will follow at 12:00 pm. Live-streaming of the service will be available at www.stroofuneralhome.com.  Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice, in honor of the loving care they provided to Jim and his family.
