On Saturday, May 7, 2022, James Leroy Bruxvoort, age 81, of Byron Center, very peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus. Jim enjoyed his 25 years of retirement from Steelcase. He loved fishing, hunting, and camping all of his life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; son, Jeffrey; parents, Tim and Elsie Bruxvoort; sister, Glenda VanderWeide; and brothers, Dennis and Bruce Bruxvoort. James will be lovingly remembered by his children, Tami and Richard Konrad, Cheryl and Phillip Huizinga; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Herman Bruxvoort, Irwin Bruxvoort, Theodore and Lorrene Bruxvoort; his dear in-laws, Wayne Medema, Rose (Ed) Zobac, Robert (Martha) Medema; many nieces and nephews. The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, May 20, from 6 - 8 pm at Heritage Christian Reformed Church, 3089 84th St. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315, where the memorial service will take place on Saturday, May 21, at 11 am, with Pastor Kevin VanWyhe officiating. Interment will be in Kent Memorial Gardens. Contributions in memory of Jim may be made to Byron Center Christian Schools.
