Bruce H. Born, age 72, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, April 22, 2021. Bruce's faith and his family were most important to him.  He enjoyed sports of any kind, especially golf and cornhole.  He also loved to hunt and cook (he was known for his salty chicken).  A graduate of MSU, Bruce remained an avid fan, and even named his dog, "Sparty."  Go Green!  Bruce worked for many years as a general contractor / salesman in the manufactured housing industry.  Along with his wife, Bruce served as a Kent County Sheriff Dept. Victim Advocate.  Bruce will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 41 years, Sherry; his children and grandchildren, Doug and Marcie Apple (Sophie and Abbey), Michelle Born - Fischer and Tony Fischer (Savannah), Christopher and Jessica Born (Caden and Kaylee), Kristin and Keith DeMann (Brayden and Bennett); his sister, Marsha Born Miller; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ronnie and Sue Quimby, Tim and Cindy Quimby, Vickie Bateman, Dave Place; and his nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 25, from 2 - 5 PM, at Stroo Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at Resurrection Life Church on Monday, April 26, at 11 AM, 5100 Ivanrest Ave. SW, Grandville, (enter using Door E or H), with Pastor Tony Hall officiating. The service will be live-streamed at Interment will be in Blain Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Faith Hospice.
