Jerry A. Herrema, age 72, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 14, 2021 after courageously battling leukemia. Jerry proudly served his country in the US Army, serving in Vietnam during the war. He was an active member of Amvets Post 23. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Bina Herrema. Surviving are his brother, Ken (Mary) Herrema of Hopkins, MI; his sister, Barbara (Frank) Reeder of Cedar Creek, TX; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved fur baby cats, Sugar, Shotzi, and Noses. As Jerry requested, cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating his life will be planned for the summer of 2021. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Amvets Post 23, 98 - 52nd St. SE, Kentwood, MI 49548.

Jerry was a good bowler. Mike and I bowled with Jerry and Lori for many years. He was a nice man and I got
to take care of him as his caregiver since April 2020. I will miss him and his love for cats.
