Rosalie was born on July 9, 1930, in Grand Rapis, Michigan, to Peter and Catherine (Miller) Bartz.  She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at age 90. 

She graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1948 and attended all 70 class reunions.  She worked at Wurzburgs for 7 years and retired from Michigan Bell after 20 years.   Rosalie, a charter member of St. Mary Magdalen Parish in Kentwood since 1956, enjoyed her friendships with the Women’s Guild and the Widow’s Group.  She also appreciated her relationships at Al-Anon during her 31-year membership.

Rosalie was preceded in death by husbands, Edward Oppenneer and Andrew Polaschik; brothers, Marvin, Robert, Edwin, and sister, Doloris.  She was also preceded in death by her sons Bill and Tom Oppenneer, and grandson, Kai Oppenneer.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children Ann Marie (Chuck) Birr, Jim Oppenneer, Jan Storms; and grandchildren, Heather Oppenneer, David Birr, and Amy Storms; and great-grandchildren, Skyler, Gabriella, and MacKenzie; and siblings, Donna, Gerald, Roger (Annmarie); step-brother, Charles (Barb), and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am Tuesday, December 22, at St. Mary Magdalen Parish, 1253 52nd St SE, with Fr Peter Vu as celebrant.  The family will greet relatives and friends at the church at 10 am prior to the mass.  Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 4100 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to God’s Kitchen, Feeding America, or a charity of your choice
