On Wednesday, December 2, 2020, Calvin John Los, age 84, left this earth to meet his Lord and Savior face to face. Calvin was born in South Dakota. After many moves and different jobs he found his "home" on a small farm in Byron Center. He found great joy in raising crops, tending a large variety of animals and teaching at Byron Center Christian School. Calvin was a long time member of Second Byron Center CRC and made many friends there.  Waiting in heaven for Calvin were his parents, seven siblings, his sister-in-law, Dorothy Fernhout, and great grandson, Conner VanAntwerp. Calvin is survived by his wife of 64 years, Charlene; his children, Colleen and Rick Campbell, Sue and Stu Warsen, Randy and Sue Los; Cal was a special grandpa to 11 grandchildren, Josh (Sara) Campbell, Ben (Lisa) Campbell, Laura (Kirk) Stevenson, Kim (Phil) Averill, Stephanie Warsen, Scott (Elana) Warsen, Stacy (Scott) Sommavilla, Brian (Angelia) Los, Angie (Patrick) VanAntwerp, Jenny (Peter) Lanning, Eric (Allyson Galbraith) Los; and 23 great grandchildren; his brother, Eugene (Shirley) Los; sister, Joyce Kragt. Calvin will always be remembered for his unconditional love for his family and friends, his faithful service to his Lord, his appreciation of nature, and sense of humor. The family will greet visitors on Sunday, December 6, from 1 - 2 pm at Second Byron Christian Reformed Church, 7588 Byron Center Ave. SW. A private memorial service will be held for the family.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Byron Center Christian School Calvin Los Heritage Scholarship.

My first job as still a young guy was working for Cal at The Corral restaurant in Cutlerville. His patience and understanding to us, his staff, will always be remembered. More than that, though, his compassion towards those in the community who really needed love and attention was particularly impressed upon me. I will never forget how good he was to the people who came into the restaurant.

I'm very sorry for your loss, albeit late in sending it.

We express our sympathy in the loss of your dearly loved husband and dad. We loved him and will miss him as you will but we PRAISE GOD FOR HIS GRACE that we see Cal again in GOD'S timing.
