Victor Paul "Vic" Balser, age 80, of Caledonia, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 6, 2024. Vic retired from North American Fuel Systems Remanufacturing. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1962 - 1965 and was a member of the Caledonia American Legion Post 305. He loved the Detroit Lions and Red Wings, but his most beloved team was the Ohio State Buckeyes. Vic enjoyed fishing, bowling, and spending time at the airport viewing area watching planes take off and land. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and LaRue Balser; and brother, Karl (Betty) Balser. Vic will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Barb; children, Kim (Ralph) VanderMei, Sherri (Jay) Nelson, Eric Paul Balser; grandchildren, Jamie (T.J.) Weiss, Danielle Balser, Jordan Nelson (fiance, Blake), Josh Quist, Zachery Balser, Noah Balser, Haley Quist, McKenna Nelson; one great-grandchild due in May; sister, Karen (Mark) Matheis; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 10, from 10 - 11 am at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, where the funeral service will begin at 11 am. Private family interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens on Monday. Contributions in memory of Vic may be made to the Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids or Faith Hospice.

Please accept our deepest sympathies! I am sure Vic is reuniting with his Mom and Dad, his brother and my Dad somewhere in heaven. We lost a great cousin and a devout BUCKEYE fan.
