Benjamin “Benny” D. Raison of Grand Rapids was called to his heavenly home after a very short battle with cancer, Jesus held out his hand and welcomed Benny home on Thursday, May 4. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jackie Raison and L.D. Raison; brothers, Denny and Tim Raison.  He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Diana, of 33 years; His children, Tracy (Louis) Bandlow; Teena (Donald) McCullough; Tony Raison; 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; His brothers and sisters, Bill (Carol) Raison; Richard (Myra) Raison; Chuck (Larieta) Raison; Larry Raison; Judi (Larry) Andres; and many nieces and nephews. You may have known Benjamin Dale Raison by Ben, Benny, or Bing. No matter how you knew him, you know he was a hard-working, funny-type-of man. One that was always quick with a smile. His love of tinkering, scrapping, camping, and baking will never be forgotten. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, May 11 from 6pm-8pm at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI, 49508. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 12 at 11am at Stroo Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Faith Hospice.

I remember when Ben and Diane first got together. I remember thinking how was this going to work. Well love happens no explanation. I am so sorry, Diane.

Benny always had a smile on his face and a kind word to say to me, he was a neighbor of mine, I will remember him like a wise Uncle, Benny will be missed my many. RIP, what a long strange it's been, Benny. RIP

I have many memories of Ben. His family and our family spent alot of time together while growing up. Our families often camped together. We often hung out on weekends. I remember that Ben always had a smile and he was genuinely a pretty happy person. Another era in our lives is forever laid to rest. I pray for peace over the family.
