Thomas Shirilla, age 56, of Caledonia, MI, unexpectedly passed away in his home on December 25, 2022.  He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 31 years, Heather; daughters, Emily and Catherine; siblings, Catherine Boland, Matthew Shirilla and his wife, Shawn Dempsey, Susan Garcia, Jennifer Shirilla, and several much loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maureen and Joel Shirilla.  Thomas was born in Detroit, but spent most of his life in Grand Rapids. He graduated from Creston High School and began his love of distance running with the cross country team there. Thomas went on to graduate from NMU and later earned an MBA at the University of Michigan. He spent his working life with Consumer’s Energy and loved spending time and traveling with family.  A visitation celebrating Thomas' life will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 2 to 4 PM at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, 49508.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Michigan Parkinson Foundation.
