William John Booth, age 89, went to be with his Lord and Savior Christmas Day, December 25, 2022. He was surrounded by family and peacefully passed after an extended struggle with COPD. Bill was born in Grand Rapids, MI on November 23, 1933, to Charles and Catherine Booth. Bill was a mechanic by trade and owned car washes in the greater Grand Rapids area. He loved camping, fishing, and hunting when given time. His favorite place to spend time with his wife, Judy, was at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore Park. Preceding Bill in death is his parents, Charles and Catherine Booth; his sister, Florence Booth; his in-laws, James and Lois Fennema; his brothers-in-law, Richard and Judy Fennema; Michael Fennema. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Judy (Fennema) Booth; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Sara Booth, Jeffrey and Catherine Booth; his grandchildren, Bill and Amanda Booth, Josh and Kelly (Booth) Krikke, Marc and Sarah (Booth) DeBoer, Lindsey (Booth) Decker, Michael and Leah Booth, Charlie and Nichole Booth, Austin and Rachel (Booth) Naber, and Victoria Martinez-Booth; 24 great-grandchildren, with two more expected; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Arv (Fennema) Klein, Barb Fennema, Carol Fennema, many nieces, nephews, and special friends. The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, December 28, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI, 49508. The funeral service will be held at First Protestant Reformed Church, 2800 Michigan St. NE, Grand Rapids, MI, 49506, on Thursday, December 29, at 11 AM with Rev. James Slopsema, officiating. Interment will be in Winchester Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Christian School, Zion Christian School, or Faith Hospice. |
