Michael T. Fennema, age 73, of Byron Center, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 11, 2022, surrounded by his family. A man of great faith, Mike was active in his church, Hillside Community Church, and serving at Streams Food Pantry. Mike served faithfully in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee in Vietnam. He loved to hunt, golf, fish, travel the world and spend time in the backyard. He enjoyed spending time with his family both in Michigan and North Carolina. Mike will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Carol; sons, Tim (Suzanne) Fennema, Tony (Marti) Fennema; grandchildren, Austine, Tyler, Elle, Erin, Parker, Drew, Davis, Dawson, Jessica (Brent) Whittney, Tiffiani (Brandon), Tyler; great grandchildren, James, Brooklynn, Forrest, Miriam, Rylan, Brahm, Lucille, Arbor, Luca; sisters, Judy (Bill) Booth, Barb Fennema, Linda (Arv) Klein; many nieces and nephews. A graveside committal service with Military Honors will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, October 5, at Winchester Cemetery, 1400 76th St. SW, with Chaplain Roger Bouma and Pastor Ron Kool officiating.
