Edward Herman Scholten, age 92, passed on to Glory on Friday, June 17, 2022. Ed lived in the same house in Cutlerville for 90 years, which was built by his parents. Ed proudly served as a naval reservist for several years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, his beloved dogs, humor, reading westerns, and gardening. Ed will be remembered for his love of life, his strength, and how he cared for Gerri. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Geraldine, in 2007; son, Kenneth Scholten, in 2020; and brother, Herman Edward Scholten, in 2018. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Barbara DeBlecourt, Joan Scholten, Chad (Stacey) Scholten; his daughter-in-law, Carol Scholten; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Helen Scholten, John VanderWeide, Steve (Debra) VanderWeide, Barb Hoekwater, Jessie Curley, Marilyn VanderWeide; and many extended family members. The family will greet visitors on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, from 10 to 11 am at Hillside Community Church, 1440 68th Street, SE; where the funeral service will begin at 11:00 am, with Pastor Ron Kool, officiating. Interment will be in Winchester Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Ed may be made to Hillside Community Church

So many memories of the Scholten family, as neighbors and family friends. Ed had quite the sense of humor. He lived a long and prosperous life. Our sympathies to the family.
