Paul Jay Nederveld, aged 66, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022. Paul enjoyed saving the earth; researching and developing scientific solutions; and volunteering, such as patrolling the Kentwood trails, planting trees at Plaster Creek, and helping members of the community with their taxes. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Paul’s faith was important to him, and he was a member of Oakdale Park Church and a former member of Brookside CRC. He retired from Haviland Enterprises where he spent his entire professional career. Paul’s child, Baby Nederveld; and brother, Don Nederveld, preceded him in death. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 36 years, Wanda; children, Melissa (Rob) Smith, Ryan Nederveld, and Ashely (Chris) Nederveld; grandchildren, Andie, Allie, Rilynn, and Mariline; his parents, Cliff and Marian Nederveld; sisters, Mary (Dave) Scramlin, Barb (Les) Berkenpas, and Ruth Ann (Terry) Hoelsema; sister-in-law, Jo Nederveld; and many nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends and relatives on Saturday, May 14, 2022, from 2-3 pm at Stroo Funeral Home at 1095 68th Street SE, Grand Rapids; where a service to celebrate Paul's life will begin at 3:00 pm. Contributions in memory of Paul may be made to SON-Life Camp & Retreat Center, where he volunteered and spent many summers with his grandchildren. |

it. Paul was so kind and willing to help. We kept in touch with them throughout the years. He drove all the way to our house for our sons graduation party which was 9 hours round trip! We got to see them from time to time. Paul turned us on to Art Prize. I think he was so happy to do that. The best of all is that Paul placed his faith and trust in The Lord Jesus Christ! So really, this is not goodbye….it’s, “I’ll see you later.”
