 Henry J. "Hank" Diekevers, age 86, of Byron Center, MI, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021, and now rejoices in the company of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Hank retired from Velting Contractors after 32 years of service as a heavy equipment operator.  He loved going to "the 53" up north.  Hank enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, and golfing.  He was always willing to help his children and loved attending his grandchildren's special events.  He was preceded in death by his siblings, Wilma (Merle) Pluger, Bernard (Grace) Diekevers, Henrietta (Bud) Tamminga; sister-in-law, Betty Hoekwater; and a grandson-in-law, Robert Herweyer.  Hank is lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Marilyn; children, Eric Diekevers, Kim Nobel; grandchildren, Keren Nobel, Joy Herweyer, Josiah (Reanna) Nobel, Boaz (Angela) Nobel; great grandchildren, Robert "RJ" Herweyer, Emerald Nobel, Benaiah Nobel; brother, Don (Leslie) Diekevers; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Keith (Donna) Hoekwater, Donald (Sally) Hoekwater, Beverly (Dr. Thomas) Elzinga, Dr. James (Christine) Hoekwater; and many nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be at Stroo Funeral Home on Sunday, November 28, from 2 to 4 PM, and also prior to the service at the church from 10 to 10:45 AM on Monday.  The funeral service will be at 11 AM on Monday, November 29, at Dutton United Reformed Church, 6950 Hanna Lake SE, Caledonia, MI 49316, with Rev. Talman Wagenmaker, officiating.  Interment will be in Winchester Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Dutton URC for the support of the ministry of Dave Meengs.
