James A. Lytle, age 72, of Kentwood, MI, entered into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, March 30, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Ethel Lytle; step-mother, Ruth C. Lytle; sister and brother-in-law, Kathie (Richard) Makowski. James is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ruth; children, Julie (Ken) Knight, Jodi (Jeff) Haase, Amy (Chris) Francis; grandsons, Lucas Haase, Parker Francis, Cooper Francis; step-brother, Jack Benner; nephews, Jason and Mark Makowski. James proudly served in the U.S. Navy and enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and woodworking. He had a great sense of humor and always had a joke to tell. After 28 years of service, James retired from Steelcase. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 2, from 2 - 4 PM and 6 - 8 PM at Heritage Christian Reformed Church, 3089 84th St SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 3, at 11 AM, at Heritage Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Bob Bolt officiating. Memorial contributions in honor of James may be made to Kindred Hospice or Visiting Angels. |
