 Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Grada Johanna Rietema (Voortman) peacefully passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021 at the age of 102 years. Grada was born on January 15, 1919 in Sheldon, Iowa, a daughter to John and Carrie (Heynen) Voortman. On August 27, 1940 she was united in marriage to Clarence Rietema in Kanawha, Iowa.  She and her husband enjoyed owning and operating a farm and then feed mill there. In 1960, Grada and Clarence moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan where they were long time members of Millbrook CRC.  Grada will be lovingly remembered by her living children, Fred (Trudy), Ken (Hanna), and Judy (Tom), and her eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Rietema, and daughter, Karen. The family would like to thank the staff of Lakeside Vista and  Faith Hospice for their loving care of Grada. A Committal Service will be held at a later date.
