Allen Lynn Kerr, 59, of Ionia, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, January 17, 2021. He was born on January, 31, 1961 in Battle Creek, Michigan, the son of James Kerr and Annette Tindle. Allen, followed in his father and older brother’s footsteps and served twelve years in the United States Coast Guard, then continued his military expertise as a mechanic through his working career. Allen loved his family; he was a son, brother, uncle, and father. He loved his science fiction movies, caring for his animals, a great novel, of course some classic World of Warcraft. He cherished time spent with family and friends, fishing, hunting, and a challenging game of Chess and playing games/cards. He loved his Peanut Butter and Coffee. He loved to sit at the campfire, even in the winter. Allen’s belief in God was unshakeable, he would regale anyone that would listen about his faith. Allen would reminisce about spending time with his siblings, hunting for crawdads as a child, spending time on the family land, and eating a Clark bar with his Dad. Preceding Allen in death are his parents, James Kerr and Annette Tindle, brothers, James Jr. and Michael Kerr, and grandparents, Andrew and Mary Kerr, Bud and Lucille Montgomery, Lindsey and Heddie Brock Jones. Surviving are his sons, Michael Kerr, and Chris (Krista) Kerr, and parent, Rose Kerr. Siblings, Reba Gushwa, Vicki Manges, Steven (Nancy) Kerr, Mary Ann (Michael) Owen, and Melissa (Steve) Barber. Nephews and Nieces, Courtney (Michael) Vance, Dalton and Zackary Kerr, Derek Marshall, Matthew Denslow, Andrew and Maycee Carrier, Steven, Makenzie and Carson Barber. Also many great nephews and nieces. Memorial services will be officiated by Jon Prominski at Lehman Funeral Home Saturday, January 23rd at 1:00 pm.
