Sharon Kay Autsema

Sharon Kay Autsema, age 65, is sitting in the loving arms of Jesus our Savior. She will forever be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her husband of 44 years, Alex Autsema; her children, Brenda (Travis) Mulcahy, Jennifer Bailey, Philip (Heather) Autsema; six favorite grandchildren, Gage and Ciara Mulcahy, Paige and Madison Autsema-Bailey, Kylor and Jaxson Autsema; her father, Louis Miedema; her sisters, Cindi (Lace) Waldron, Sandy (Charley) Westhouse; sisters-in-law, Ina (Don) Jansen, Marti (Ken) Steenwyk; as well as her nieces, nephews, and many cousins. Sharon was preceded in death by her mother, Florence Miedema, sister, Annette Miedema; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Grace and John Autsema; and brother-in-law, Don Autsema. Sharon loved the Lord; she loved her family; and she loved life. Well done, good and faithful servant. Sharon was born and raised in the Moline - Wayland area, and lived in Kentwood for many years. A graduate of South Christian High School and GRCC, Sharon worked in the dental industry for 18 years and finished her career with another 18 years at Calvin University. She enjoyed being involved with many arts and crafts, and loved camping. A visitation for family and friends will be held at Cornerstone Church, 1675 84th Street SE, Caledonia, on Wednesday, December 23, from 1 - 3 PM. Due to current size restrictions of 25 people or less, a private family memorial service will be held at 3:15 PM. The service will be live-streamed on the church's YouTube channel. Sharon was one of my dearest friends. We shared many good times together through the years. We met at work over 20 years ago and have remained good friends ever since. My heart is truly broken. Condolences to Alex and the rest of her family. She will be greatly missed.
