Memorials: to Community of Christ - Alaska, 8146 68th St. SE, Alto, MI 49302

Dorothy Fern Jousma, born July 20, 1918 and died December 17, 2020 at the age of 102. She was preceded in death by her parents, Owen and Edith Nash; sister, Matilda Deming; brother, Clifford Nash; and husband, Jack Jousma. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Fredrick Jousma, John Jousma, Donald Jousma; seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; and a host of great-great grandchildren. Dorothy was a loving and kind person. She was devoted to her husband for nearly 80 years, and to her family and church. She relished being a wife, full time mother, and a friend to all. She was never known to raise her voice or utter an unkind word but was quick to offer comforting words. She was loved by all who met her and knew her. One of her greatest joys was being able to host family and friends at the dinner table. Two things that brought much pride and happiness was her artwork and her flowers. Dorothy remained mentally alert her entire life and lived independently up until the last couple of years. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. A memorial service will be held  in the Spring of 2021. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community of Christ-Alaska, 8146 68th St. SE, Alto, MI 49302.
