Carol Mrozinski Oct. 8, 1939 – Dec. 3, 2020 Carol Mrozinski, a loving and kind wife, mother, friend, artist and nurse, died on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020 in Grand Rapids after sustaining a massive stroke.
Born in St. Louis Park, Minn. on Oct. 8, 1939 to Milo and Agnes Guderian, Carol attended Northwestern Nursing School and Aquinas College, where she graduated with a BA in Psychology. She served for more than 30 years as a psychiatric nurse and nursing supervisor at Pine Rest Christian Hospital. After her retirement from nursing, she served for five years as the childrens' librarian and “Grannie Em” at Leighton Township Library.
In retirement, Carol flourished as a prolific artist, working in porcelain, clay and mostly water color. “My creative work has been the deepest manifestation of my gratitude for this gift called life,” she wrote of her passion for art.
Carol is survived by her husband, Ron Mrozinski, of Grand Rapids Township; her daughter, Lisa Marie (Jim) Harger, of Grand Rapids Township, her son, Chad Alan Kromminga, of Grand Rapids, her granddaughter, Djoura Meyers, of Comstock Park; and her sister, Gwen (David) Evans, of New Brighton, Minn. She also is survived by her step-children; Karen (Mike) Brown, of Cincinnati; Mike (Beth) Mrozinski, of Imlay City; Paul (Janice) Mrozinski of Dexter; Marge White, of Richmond, Va.; Laura Mrozinski of Kalamazoo; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
In accordance with her wishes, Carol was laid to rest at a private burial ceremony at Leighton Township Cemetery on Friday, Dec. 4. A celebration of her life will be scheduled at a later date. Those wishing to honor Carol's life are encouraged to consider special acts of charity and kindness for one day. |
