 NOTE: CHANGE IN SERVICE DETAILS.

Robert William Osenga, age 74, passed away unexpectedly and went to be with his Lord on Friday, November 6, 2020. He was born June 24, 1946 in East Grand Rapids to Robert B. and Margaret Osenga. Bob served his country in the Marine Corps in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968 and in the Marine Corps Reserves until 1972. Bob retired after a career of over 37 years working for the City of Wyoming. Bob loved traveling with his friends and family, including taking cruises and other adventures. During his retirement, Bob enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren at his cottage in Sand Lake, and worked hard to stay involved in the lives of his family members through his generosity and frequent visits and phone calls. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lucy (Rus) whom he married on May 3, 1969; children, Matthew and Kristen Osenga, Meredith and Kevin Trumbull; grandchildren, Victoria Osenga, Caroline Osenga, Audra Trumbull, Nathan Trumbull, and Brooke Trumbull; brother, Gerald and Fran Osenga; mother-in-law, Wilma Rus; sister-in-law, Beverly Weber; brother-in-law, Daryl Rus; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation, open to the public, will be held on Friday, November 20, from 10:00 - 10:45 am at Stroo Funeral Home (please wear a face mask and practice social distancing guidelines). Due to new restrictions, the funeral service will be private. A public memorial service will be planned at a later date. Interment will be in Winchester Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to AnchorPoint Christian School, www.anchorpointchristian.orgkwhiThis email address is being protected from spambots. I met Bob at Nice Twice as a Friday volunteer . I really enjoyed working with Bob as he was a congenial fellow and easy to talk to. I am sorry for his passing but we know that through his faith he is with the Lord!.
