James "Jimmy" R. Dykstra, aged 65, was called home by his Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 7, 2020.  Jimmy worked at the Exit 76 Street Truck Stop for 33 years and was a charter member of Providence Christian Reformed Church. He enjoyed watching baseball and softball games at Cutler and Whistle Stop Parks, hanging out with his friends at the Cutlerville Fire Department, even making chili for them on occasion. He volunteered to be Smokey the Bear for many years for the Cutlerville Days Parade. His friendly manner and smile will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Senetta Dykstra; twin sisters, Donna and Diane; and his brother-in-law, John Jonker Jr.  He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Sharon Tubbs, Barb Jonker, Karen Kloosterman; nieces and nephews, Ronnie, Brian (Cathy), Brenda (Kris), Todd (Shelly), Amy (Geno), Brad (Jenny); many great nieces, great nephews; one great-great-niece; aunts; uncles; and several cousins. The family will greet visitors on Wednesday, November 11, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Thursday, November 12, at Providence Christian Reformed Church, 7730 Eastern Ave, SE, with Reverends JB Wernlund and Bob Boersma officiating. Interment will be in Blain Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Jimmy may be made to the Providence CRC Benevolence Fund.

Jimmie and family were neighbors on Azalea st in Cutlerville! He helped his sister Karen babysit my 3 little ones! Our sons Jeff and Steve loved him! He kept watch over them if out in the street! Loved his caring and smiling personality!! Enjoy being with your parents Jimmie!

Sad to hear about Jimmy we had alot a great laughs jimmy was a great person and sure wish I wasn't on the road so I could be there but sending my respects R.I.H jimmy until we meet again ride safe up there
