Terrance John "Terry" Haan, 84, of Byron Center, MI, born on February 2, 1936, peacefully passed away in the early morning of August 29, 2020, with his wife holding one hand and his daughter the other. Terry graduated from Wyoming High School in 1954. He served in the military for two years and was called back during the Berlin crisis of 1961. While serving, he was awarded the Army Good Conduct medal. He was a die designer by trade which fit well with his meticulous personality. Terry had a deep love of golf and enjoyed golfing almost daily at a golf course in Grand Rapids and Coral, MI. He was a man of few words but was known for sharing life lessons and philosophies with his family. He was a devoted husband, dedicated father, loving grandfather, and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dorothy Haan; his sister, Doris; and his oldest daughter, Michelle Lynn. He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie, of 59 years; his daughter, Lori and Al TePastte Jr; his granddaughter, Lindsey and Rick Kloeckner; grandson, Devin and Amanda TePastte; and five beautiful great-grandchildren; his brother, Arthur and Christine Haan, and sister, Mary and Dave VanSolkema. A graveside service was held with his immediate family. Chaplain David Braak from Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods officiated. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for his visits, both at home and at Trillium Woods. They were a true blessing to the entire family. Terry's family would also like to extend their deep gratitude to the entire staff at Trillium Woods for the devoted care they gave to Terry. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods or The Down Syndrome Association of West Michigan.
