Bernie Fredricks, age 85, of Dutton, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, July 6, 2020. Bernie honorably served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in the Panama Canal zone immediately following the Korean War. He went on to work as a flooring installer for many years. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and was an avid sportsman, who especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling. Bernie was a longtime member of Kelloggsville Christian Reformed Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Bessie Fredricks, and a sister, Edna Sessions. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Pat; children, Kim Fredricks, Jim and Marcie Fredricks, Tammy and Scott Gibson, Julie and John VanDyk; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren with another on the way; sisters and brothers, Marilyn Hosmer, Marvin Fredricks, Jerry Fredricks, Ray and Merry Fredricks, Lillian VanDyke, Don and Marianne Fredricks; sister-in-law, Sharon (Lindhout) and Rob Jonker; many nieces and nephews. Private family services, including military honors and interment in Fort Custer National Cemetery, will take place. Contributions in memory of Bernie may be made to South Christian High School or Dutton Christian School.
