Rev. Roger Ellis Foust, Sr., age 94, a resident of Legacies Assisted Living in Caledonia, MI, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, May 22, 2020. He was born on May 14, 1926 to Dwight and Irene Foust in Gladwin, MI. As a missionary he was called to serve as pastor of the Flint Creek Baptist Church in Philipsburg, MT, where he and Pearl resided from 1973 to 2015. Known as the "resident theologian", he also loved hunting and fishing. He had the reputation  as the best hunter, fisherman, and guide in the Philipsburg area. Roger will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 72 years, Pearl Estella; children, Roger (Ruth) Foust, Jr., Patti (Stephen) Baker, Linda (Steven) Batdorff, Bonnie (Tom) Reynolds, Cindy (Rob) Murphy; 18 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Doyle and Leobelle Saylor; as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 28, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM at Stroo Funeral Home. Due to the current health restrictions, please be aware that only 10 people are permitted in the room at a time. A public memorial service will be held at Good News Baptist Church at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Roger may be made to Continental Baptist Missions, where Pastor Foust, his son, and a granddaughter have been or currently are active; or to Legacies Assisted Living, in appreciation for the wonderful care provided to Roger and his family.
