Harriet (VandenBerg) Kuipers, age 93, of Grand Rapids, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 1, 2020. Her husband, Nelson, preceded her in death. In spite of living with Parkinson’s Disease for the last 22 years of her life, Harriet’s faith, wit, and intellect never faltered. She had a lasting impact on the many organizations in which she was involved over the years, but her greatest impact was on the people she met. She befriended people from all walks of life and was generous with her time and her resources. The last seven months of her life were spent at Trillium Woods where she was loved by both staff and volunteers. Harriet will be lovingly remembered by her children, Carole Giberson, Jan (Don) Pottorff, Marjorie Kuipers, Joel (Chris) Kuipers, Ellen (Mark) Mulder, Abram (Tammy) Kuipers; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Edith Mulder, Clara Mast, Mae O'Neill, Lois (Gene) Kleinjan; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Agnes Euwema, Don Kuipers, Harriet Kuipers (Mrs. Jim), and Gladys Kuipers. The family will greet visitors on Thursday, March 5, from 5 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home and on Friday, March 6, prior to the service from 10 - 11 am at Cutlerville East Christian Reformed Church, 501 68th St. SE, where the funeral service will begin at 11 am. Rev. Dewey Thompson will officiate. Interment will be in Blain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cutlerville East CRC or Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods. |
