Visitation: Thursday from 6 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home and Friday from 10 - 11 am prior to the service at the church

 Pauline “Polly” A. Bush, aged 90, of Byron Center, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 28, 2020. Born July 22, 1929 in Hersey, Michigan, she was the daughter of Reverend Walter and Alice Fowler. She was married to the love of her life, Gordon Bush, for sixty years. Polly loved to be surrounded by family and friends and especially enjoyed working with children at church. She spent most of her adult working life working in libraries of Godwin Heights Public Schools where she shared her passion for reading and storytelling. Along with her parents Walter and Alice, and husband Gordon, she was preceded in death by her grandson Erik Bush, and siblings Darrell Fowler, Wilma Sloan, Kathryn Storrs, Elenor Rogers, Elizabeth Bush, Marjorie Cahoon, and Marilyn King. Surviving are her children, Gordon (Fay) Bush Jr. of Rockford, Joanne (Clete) Balbough of Silver City, and Jed (Caryn) Bush of Alto; grandchildren, Tawnee Balbough Phillips, Rebecca Bush Pirtle, and Sarah Balbough; five great-grandchildren, Amiee Wolf, Ryan Phillips, Seth, Chloe, and Winter Pirtle; sisters, Geraldine Bishop of Burlington, Vermont, Phylis Dieters of Grand Rapids, and Janice Morton of Leelanau. A celebration of Polly’s life will be held at 11:00am, Friday, March 6, 2020 at Byron Center Bible Church, 8855 Byron Center Ave., SW.The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be in Highlandview Cemetery, Big Rapids. Contributions in memory of Polly may be made to Kindred Hospice or Byron Center Bible Church.

To Polly's family - I just read about her passing on our Godwin FB page. I am very sorry for your your loss. I was blessed to work with Polly at South Godwin, when she was our librarian. Her bright, warm personality filled that library and she shared her love for stories with our kids. I loved bringing my class to see her - you just never knew what was in store! Some days after school, we would sit and chat about our love of books. When I saw her picture, my instant memory was of the way her eyes lit up when she laughed. I hope your day is filled with beautiful memories of this special lady❤️.

Formerly Kimberly Storrs, daughter of Kathryn Storrs. My prayers and good thoughts reach out to Aunt Polly's extended family from my family here in the beautiful mtns of Western North Carolina. I'm saddened to learn of my Aunt Polly's passing, yet comforted to know that she's reunited with all of our family and her friends, who've gone before her and are enwrapped in the Light of God.
