He retired from Pine Rest after 32 years of service as a security officer and maintenance worker. Ben will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Diane; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Steve Conover; his grandchildren, Jenelle (Dr. Robert) Zehrung, Rachel (Victor) Matthews X, Benjamin Conover, Matthew Conover; a great granddaughter, Claudia Conover; his sisters, Sadie Knoper and Betty Templeman; his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Judith (John) Dombrow, Louis (Pamela) Venema, Thelma Venema; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, from 5:30 - 6:45 PM at Providence Christian Reformed Church, 7730 Eastern Ave. SE, where the funeral service will begin at 7:00 PM. Pastor J.B. Wernlund will officiate. Interment will be in Blain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Benevolence Fund of Providence CRC.
