Gerald Henry Lucas, age 85, of Hastings, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. Gerald proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He later became a cement contractor, owning his own business, Lucas Cement Contracting. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith; and son, Gerry Lucas.  Gerald will be loving remembered by his children, Randy Lucas, Amy Lyon, Andy Lucas, Dean (Cindy) Lucas; daughter-in-law, Vickie Lucas; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brothers, Gord (Bonnie) Lucas; sisters, Margaret (Pete) Jimmerson, Freda Young; brother-in-law, James DeHaan; sisters-in-law, Evelyn (Kerwin) Boven, Florence Eylander; several nieces and nephews. The family will greet visitors on Thursday, November 7, from 4 - 7 pm at Stroo Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, November 8, at Dutton United Reformed Church, 6950 Hanna Lake SE, with Rev. Talman Wagenmaker officiating. Interment will be in Dutton Cemetery. For those wishing, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
