Bonnie Lou Kurnat, age 73, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 23, 2019, surrounded by her family. Bonnie loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a continual Champion, Cheerleader and supporter of all her children and grandchildren’s achievements (sports, music, etc).  A favorite place of Bonnie's was Frankfort, Michigan, a place she traveled to often. Bonnie was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Beatrice and Paul Hopkins; her father, John Straubel; her sister, Sharon Straubel; and her brother-in-law, Terrance Farrey. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Karen (Tim) Beyer, John (Lorie) Kurnat, Becky (Jon) Cahall; her grandchildren, Melissa (Taylor) Muller, Emilie Kurnat, Jakob Kurnat, Kian Cahall; a great granddaughter, Audrey Paige Muller; her brothers and sisters, John "Doc" (Theresa) Straubel, twin, Barb Farrey, Lee (Sheila) Hopkins, Marilee (Steve) Lamadrid, Tim (Kathy) Hopkins; her former husband, Tom Kurnat, and his wife, Jayma, who remained close friends with Bonnie. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 5, from 10 - 11 am at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 4101 Clyde Park Ave. SW, Wyoming, where a Memorial Mass will begin at 11 am. Contributions in memory of Bonnie may be made to the Walk to End Alzheimer's (Alzheimer's Association) - Team Boneyes ( .
