 Janet A. Jongert, of Sun City, AZ, a retired school secretary of the Alhambra District, died on Friday, June 28, 2019. She was born in Grand Rapids, MI, and moved to AZ in 1960. Janet is survived by her husband of 67 years, Thomas; children, Annjean (William) DeVries of Grand Rapids, MI, Charles (Pam) Jongert of Salt Lake, Utah, and Genie Jongert of Phoenix, AZ; 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Ondersma, Mildred (Earnest) Scheltema, and Beatrice (William) Boorsma. Jan was preceded in death by her son, Michael; grandson, Douglas DeVries; parents, Andy and Ann Ondersma; and siblings, Johanna (Rich) Doezema, Roger (Cora) Ondersma and Marv Ondersma. The funeral will be held 11 am Wednesday, July 3, at West Valley Christian Fellowship, 12649 N. 105th Ave. Sun City. A private interment will be held at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Phoenix Christian Grade School Foundation, 2425 N. 26th St, Phoenix, AZ 85008
