Steven Mollema, age 70, of Wayland, MI, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2019, surrounded by his family and friends, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Mollema. Steven will be lovingly missed by his wife of 47 years, Sandy; children, Jonathan (Allie) Mollema, Danielle (Joel) Hoevenaar, Deanne Mollema (Chris Mull); grandchildren, Hannah and Logan Hoevenaar and Evelyn Mollema; mother, Cora "Karen" Henning; his beloved dog, Lexi; brothers-in-law, Duane Potter (Michael Helser) and Ron (Valerie) Potter; step-sister, Joanne (Lyle) Carpenter; step-brother-in-law, Duane Klunder; step-sister-in-law, Martha Henning; and special friends, Bill and Rita Martin. Steve graduated from Wayland Union High School and Ferris State University. He enjoyed traveling, camping in his motorhome and riding on his Harley-Davidson. He especially enjoyed and loved his grandchildren; he loved attending their activities and events whenever possible. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Cancer and Hematology Centers of Western Michigan for their care and assistance. The family will greet visitors on Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held 11am on Thursday, May 9, at Corinth Reformed Church, 129 - 100th St. SE.  Memorial contributions may be made in Steve's honor to The Dream Foundation, www.dreamfoundation.org
