Roy Edward Seyffert, age 77, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2019. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carolyn; sons, Stephen (Beatrice) of Arizona, Michael (Connie) of Webberville, Daniel (Beverly) of Byron Center, Andrew (Natasha) of Grand Rapids; 11 grandchildren; sister, Anita Weykamp; sisters-in-law, Jackie Schrader, Luanna Seyffert; as well as several nieces and nephews. Roy was preceded in death by his son, Joseph E., his parents, Edward Roy and Margaret Bernice (Widemeyer) Seyffert, brother, Richard, brothers-in-law, Merwyn Brickell and Gerard Weykamp. Roy worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan for 38 years, and was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Parish. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 27, from 6 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home, and on Thursday, February 28, from 10 - 11 am at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 1253 52nd St. SE, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Thursday, with Fr. Peter Vu, celebrant. Private interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers! I worked many years with Roy at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. He helped many people in their journey through the insurance maze. He always had a quick smile and was there to lend a helping hand to those who needed it. He will be greatly missed. God bless your family during this difficult time. Lots of hugs!
