Richard L. Blain, Sr., age 59, of Byron Center, was welcomed into his heavenly home on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, after winning his long battle with Lymphoma (II Timothy 4:7,8). Richard loved his family and was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed his John Deere Tractors and attending the Tractor and Steam Engine shows. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Crystal; and nephew, Ronald Zoet. Richard will be lovingly remembered by his children, Leigha (Shawn) Zendler, Richard Blain, Jr. (fiance, Hillary Kent); grandchildren, Remi and Weston; sisters, Linda Zoet, Kathy Stevens; nephews and nieces. The family wishes to thank Dr. Zakem, the doctors and nursing staff of Metro Hospital, and Faith Hospice. The family will greet visitors on Sunday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home. The service will be held 11 am Monday, May 14, at Good News Baptist Church, 6830 Eastern Ave. SE. Interment in Blain Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Leigha, Shawn, Remi, Weston: We always have fond memories of Rich. A very loving, kind man of God. I recall him having the good book by his side. He will be missed. We will continue to pray for you and your family during this difficult time.
