David J. Van Dorp 
Visitation: Friday, Feb. 2, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Stroo Funeral Home and Saturday, Feb. 3, from 10 to 11 am at the church 
Service: 11:00 am Saturday, February 3, 2018 at South United Methodist Church, 4500 S. Division Ave., Kentwood, MI 49548; enter off of Ridgewood St.

VAN DORP - David J. Van Dorp, went to be with his Lord on Friday, January 26, 2018. Dave attended and served others at South United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of South Christian High School and an electrician at Steelcase for 39 years. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandy; children and grandchildren, Jeff and Amy Van Dorp (Morgan, Ellie, and Samuel), Julie and Doug Bazuin (Ian and Eva); sisters, Evelyn and Dave Fennema, Sharon and Pete DeVries; brother, Ken and Carolyn Van Dorp; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mike and Mary Dykema, Kathy and Dave Hill, Tom and Cindy Dykema; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, February 3, 2018 at South United Methodist Church, 4500 S,. Division Ave., enter off of Ridgewood St.; with Rev. Mack Strange officiating. Interment in Kent Memorial Gardens. Contributions in memory of Dave may be made to South United Methodist Church. The family will greet visitors on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Stroo Funeral Home and on Saturday from 10 to 11 am at the church.
