Georgie Cowan, age 91, of Byron Center, passed away December 21, 2017 following a long illness. Georgie grew up in Detroit, MI. She earned a BS in home economics from Western College for Women. After marrying, Georgie was employed at the Michigan Consolidated Gas Company as a home economist and taught the "Good Cooking" TV show. As she raised her family she found time to be actively involved at her children’s school and her church. Her leisure activities included being an avid reader, an accomplished seamstress and skilled knitter. She was a world traveler having visited the U.K., Italy, Greece, the Caribbean, South America, Singapore, Malaysia and Mexico. Georgie will be remembered for her wonderful plates of Christmas cookies that she lovingly baked for family, friends and neighbors every season for more than 50 years. Georgie was blessed to have been married 61 years and was preceded in death by her husband, Richard. She is survived by her children, Wendy Cowan and Heather and Tom Schuster. Memorials may be made to: Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Attn: Jim Miller, Treasurer, 1228 Mesa Junction Dr. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. A private family gathering will be held at a later time.

Please accept our most sincerest condolences. Our prayers are with you and your family. May God grant your family strength an serenity through this difficult moment your family is enduring. God has promised us that we will soon be reunited with our loved one. "There is going to be a resurrection," the Bible confirms at Acts 24:15. "Do not be amazed at this, "Jesus assures as, "for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out"-John 5:28,29
