Visitation:  Thursday from 5 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home and Friday from 10 - 11 am prior to the service at the church
Service: 11 am Friday, September 1, at Good News Baptist Church

 This is not a sad occasion (although we are sad), it is a JOYOUS occasion because at 8:20 pm on Monday, August 28, 2017,  our dear mother, Mary Veltman, age 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  She is no longer in pain and has been reunited in Heaven with our dad, Donald, after a 21 year absence.  Our mom was a quiet and humble person, who LOVED God, her husband, her children and their spouses, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She treated strangers with love and respect.  She was honest to a fault and always gave others the benefit of the doubt.  Never preachy, she simply lived her life in a God pleasing way.  Needless to say, our mother will be missed by all who knew her, especially by her children, Daniel (Marilyn) Veltman, Karen (Art) Shillito, Patricia (Richard) Wyma, Glenn (Sandy) Veltman, Marilyn (Mark) Patterson (both deceased), Shelly (Randy) Kuipers; her grandchildren, Christopher and Rachel Veltman, Rebekah (Randy) De Nooy, Arthur (Janelle) Shillito, Laura (Calin) Muresan, Julia (Scott) Vander Kolk, Lisa (Jason) Cannon, Dan (Lesley) Wyma, Katherine (John) Race, Don (Kris) Veltman, Jason (Kara) Kuipers, Amanda (Jason) Karel, Brandon and Jordan Kuipers; her great grandchildren, Jillian, Noelle-Ashley, Nicholas, Emma, Maria, Elena De Nooy; Charity, John, Peter, Lydia, Mary, Grace, Lillian Shillito; George Muresan; Elliana and Annalise Vander Kolk; Madeline and Everett Cannon; Olivia and Claire Wyma; Noah and Gabriel Race; Vaughn Veltman; Sven Kuipers; Brailey, Parker, Zoey Karel; sisters, Esther Hanson, Hazel (Eugene) Groenhof; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  The funeral service will be held 11 am Friday, September 1, at Good News Baptist Church, 6830 Eastern Ave. SE, with Pastor Terry Frazine officiating. Interment in Grandville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Good News Baptist Church Building Fund. The family will greet visitors on Thursday from 5 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home, and Friday prior to the service from 10 - 10:45 am at the church.

So sorry for your loss. I am Evonne's sister-in -law from Vista Springs. Your mom was such a friendly, kind lady and I really enjoyed her. She is up in heaven now and in no more pain and confusion.
