Alfred James "Al" Zandstra, saved by grace, went to glory on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, one month shy of his 84th birthday. Al proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for four years. He very much enjoyed fishing and spent many years at Big Star Lake in Baldwin, and Hamlin Lake in Ludington. He worked at Steelcase for 25 years and after retiring he loved woodworking and spent many years in his workshop. Al was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Marilyn (Dikkers); his children, Dawn and Gary Robinson, Darla and Bill Musk; his grandchildren, Amy (Lance) Lowery, Chad (Krista) Robinson, Danny Musk, Kaylee Musk; a great grandson, Eric Lowery, with another great grandchild on the way; his twin brother, Albert Jr. (Wilma) Zandstra; brothers-in-law, Robert Pranger, Herman (Annette) Dikkers; many nieces and nephews. The family expresses sincere thanks to all of the doctors and nurses at the Meijer Heart Center for their loving care. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Friday, May 26, at Cutlerville East Christian Reformed Church, 501 68th St. SE, with Rev. Bill Renkema officiating. Interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Toys for God's Kids, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday from 5-8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home, and Friday prior to the service from 9:30-10:15 am at the church.
